Scout Sunday! Come Support our Chartering Organization!

Posted on Feb 4 2017 - 11:49pm
St Paul's Lutheran Church, 28 Lincoln Ave, Pittsford, NY 14534

Scout Sunday is closely approaching! Sunday, February 5th isn't just a day to celebrate your favorite quarterback and football team! It's also a day to recognize your faith with your scout unit or religious-based chartered organization. Our troop has the pleasure of being chartered by St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Scout Uniforms

Posted on Nov 7 2016 - 3:53pm

THE UNIFORM:  The uniform makes the Boy Scout troop visible as a force for good and creates a positive youth image in the community.  The Scout uniform is a sign to others that the Scout wearing it is a person who can be trusted and be counted on to lend a hand when help is needed.  The uniform is practical attire for Scout activities and provides a way for Scouts to wear the badges that show what they have accomplished.

THE NEED:  There are many Packs, Troops and Scout families in the Rochester, NY area who may not have the resources to provide or purchase Scout uniforms.  Whether Cub Scout or Boy Scout uniform, blue or khaki, most likely all Scouts in your Pack or Troop have outgrown or changed the type or size of Class A uniform.  Let’s put those “experienced” uniforms to good use!

Do you have an outgrown Cub Scout or Boy Scout uniform just hanging in a closet collecting dust? At some point, did your Cub Scout or Den switch from blue Class A to Khaki Class A when becoming Webelos or crossing over to the Boy Scout Troop?  Please search your closets and drawers for these experienced uniforms and accessories.

Bring to our November and December Troop meetings your experienced uniforms and we will coordinate getting them into the hands of a Scout who needs one!  Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers all need Class A shirts, scout pants/shorts, scout socks, neckerchiefs (Cub Scouts & Webelos), slides, and hats, but they prefer up-to-date items without holes or stains.  Remember:  A Scout is HELPFUL and THRIFTY.

Fall Troop Campout

Posted on Oct 29 2016 - 7:15pm
Fall Campout Still on!
As mentioned previously, we had to cancel the Ring Homestead campout because of an unexpected cost increase.  Instead, we are staying "local" and camping at Webster Park.
We'll have a good opportunity for hiking, working on rank and merit badge requirements and doing some community service work.  Being local, hopefully most of the troop can participate.  Cost TBD but it should be minimal.
Please sign up using this link
Stay tuned for more details.
